Assalammualaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim
Subhanallah, alhamdulillah, lailaha ilallah, Allahu akbar. There are so many things to be done and sometimes, in the pursuit of settling the responsibilities that we bear in this world, we tend to miss our own spiritual fill. Lets take a breather [~_~]. Masha Allah. As we travel in this fana (mortal) life, there are times when we face trials and adversity. Sometimes, it does not come from our enemy, but from the people who we love and cherish. Why? When asked upon this, one could only say "be patient" but patience, is easier said than done.

As noted by Imam Ibn Qayyim r.h. (in his book, Patience and Gratitude - An Abridged Translation of uddat as-sabirin wa dhakirat ash-shakirin), patience is required in the following areas of life:
1. In worshipping Allah and following His commands
2. In abstaining from wrong actions
3. In accepting Allah's decree and ruling (qada' and qadr). This is the advice given bu Luqman when he told his son:
2. In abstaining from wrong actions
3. In accepting Allah's decree and ruling (qada' and qadr). This is the advice given bu Luqman when he told his son:
"O' my son! Establish regular prayer, enjoin what is just and forbid what is wrong; and bear with patient constancy whatever betide you; for this is firmness (of purpose) in (the conduct of) affairs"
[Luqman 31:17]
Enjoining what is just includes doing good oneself, and forbidding what is wrong includes abstaining from wrong action onself.
All of us are aware of this, patience is easier said than done. A person who is facing adversity might see things differently as they are tested by Allah through their own nafs (emotional whims) and also by syaitan who will whisper poisonous words in the heart of the one who is tested. Hence, one must really practice patience at all times - which is extremely challenging.
That is why Allah stated clearly in the al-Quran:
"O ye who believe! Seek help with patient (perseverance) and Prayer: for Allah is with those who patiently persevere; And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not.; Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. ; Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return"; They are those on whom (descend) blessings from their Lord, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance."
[al-Baqarah 2:153-157]
wallahua'lam
segala puji hanya bagi Allah, Tuhan sekalian alam
For the ones who are tested by Allah, be patient. Be really patient. What matters most is that you know that what you did is for Allah and from Allah. Do not force things, rather take it slowly but surely. Strengthening one's iman is not easy. Therefore, be patient.
