This Journey

Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim
Assalammualaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Subhanallah walhamdulillah wa lailaha ilAllah, Allahu akbar. I hope everyone is in the best of health and are in the highest, if not, in the best level of iman and amal. Insya Allah.

Rindu Misr. My friends are having Egypt flu and they are missing the land of the prophet(s) deeply. Masha Allah, tabarakallah. The feeling of utter bliss and peace were palpable in our faces when we were there, standing on the sands that Prophet Harun a.s. once stood on, holding on for dear life on the rocks that Prophet Musa a.s. climbed on, feeling the breeze and the burning sun that burned the skins of our proph
et(s) a.s. Apart from that, the lesson(s) learned from the experience is utterly priceless. Subhanallah. It had been a year and the yearning to feel the tranquility (in the hustle and bustle of Egypt life) and pray at the mosques built by the Companions of the Prophet s.a.w is still very deep. This is just Egypt, masha Allah, Makkah and Medina al-Munawwarah may cause us to be even more feverish and fidgeting restlessly to return there. Wallahua'lam.

Rahmat Allah

Reflecting on our journey, one have to realize that everyone of us is in a journey, as cliche as this may sound, it is the journey to Allah. Masha Allah. This journey is like walking against the strong current of ignorance. We have to go through it and it takes time. The key is persistence and strong will also the highest level of faith in Allah to move on and succeed. Wallahu, this is not an easy feat.

Subhanallah. I am deeply moved by Ibn Taymiyyah's word in his book, Al-'Ubu
diyah: Being a True Slave to Allah as he tells us what our dearly beloved Messenger, Muhammad s.a.w had emphasized in his (s.a.w.) years of being Allah's beloved Messenger - to make Allah the focus of our love in attaining eternal happiness:

The heart is inherently dependent on Allah in two ways: from the point of view of worship, which is the ultimate goal, and from the point of view of seeking His help and relying upon Him, which are the means to that end. The heart cannot be sound, or succeed, or find joy, or be happy, or feel pleasure, or be good, or be at peace, or find tranquility, except by worshiping its Lord, loving Him and returning to Him. Even if it attains all that it can enjoy of created things, it will not feel at peace or find tranquility, because it has an inherent need for its Lord, for He is the focus of its worship, love and seeking, and this is the only way to attain joy, happiness, pleasure, peace, and tranquility.

Masha Allah. Allah ta'ala have stated in the Quran that we will find p
eace and tranquility by remembering Him "'ala bidhikrillahi tatmainnul qulub" [ar-Ra'd 13:28] and what more fulfilling than remembering the Dzat that created us, that provides us with sustenance and gives us life? Syeikh Ibn Taymiyyah also adds:

For if a person is helped to attain what he loves, seeks, desires, and wants, but he does not worship Allah, he will never achieve anything but sorrow, regret and suffering. He can never be free of the pain and hardship of this life except through loving Allah sincerely, do that Allah becomes his ultimate desire and he loves Him for what He is, and he loves anyone or anything else only for His sake, and he does not love anything for its own sake except Allah. If he does not achieve this (level of love), he has not properly understood the true meaning of 'la ilaha ilAllah' or of Tawhid or of 'ubudiyah' or of 'loving Allah'. There is something lacking in his iman and Tawhid, and he will suffer pain, regret and anguish accordingly.

Naudzubillahi minzalik. Let us repent from our past sins to Allah. How sad it is to see Allah in a state of disgrace. Naudzubillah. Let us cleanse our heart, straighten our saff, correct our niat, and purify our soul. Let those tears of repentance wash the sins away.

Astaghfirullah hal azeem

P/S: Maybe someone could share on the book The Journey to Allah by Imam Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali with me. I will definitely appreciate the kind gesture and only Allah can bestow you with His divine blessings and love for it. Insya Allah. Oh, photos of Misr is credited to a dear friend of mine. Jazakillahu khayr [~_~]

wallahua'lam

All praises be to Allah, Lords of the world
