Da'wah (spreading of understanding of islam and the syahadah) is an obligation upon everyone who has the ability, from the scholars to the Muslim leaders to the daies (everyone of us), until the message of islam raches all corners of the world in the different languages people use. This is the type of conveyance which Allah as ordered.
Allah the most high, said to His prophet: [al-maidah 5:67] "O Messenger, proclaim (the message) which Allah has sent down to you from your Lord."
Thus, it was obligatory upon the messenger s.a.w to deliver the message just as it was obligatory upon all the messengers (r.a.) and also upon those who follows the messengers in conveying the message.
The prophet s.a.w has said: "convey from me even if its an ayat" [al-Bukhari]. And when the prophet s.a.w addressed the people, he (s.a.w) used to say: "Let the one who is present convey what he has heard to the one who is absent, for the one who is absent may understand it better than the one who is present" [al-Bukhari]
Hence, it s obligatory upon the whole of the ummah, from the rulers, to the scholars, to traders and others to convey this deen from Allah and His messengers (pbuh) and explain in to them in the various languages which are used by them.
