18th Ramadhan - Love

Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim
Assalammualaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Subhanallah walhamdulillah wa lailaha ilallah wallahu akbar. Alhamdulillah wa syukrillah, its the 18th day of Ramadhan which means that there are very little time to repent, ask for Allah's forgiveness, recite (and understand) the quran more vigorously, pray more, and maximize our good deeds within this precious month so that it cleanses our hearts just like how the rain clears up a muddy mirror so that it can sustain us in the next 11 month to come.

[Yunus:57]

Subanallah its invigorating for the heart to fast, read and recite the words of love from the book of Allah (al-Quran), trying to understand and practice Allah's commandments, and at the same time, enlightening ourselves with the real purpose of our creation - as an 'abd (slave) to the Allmighty Creator.

However, how far have we (I, myself especially) loved Allah, clears our aim/niyat in doing deeds only for Him? Have I been an obedient slave to Allah? Have I been a good khalifah in this fana world? What is all my age worth in front of the Allmighty Creator? Ighfirly ya Allah.

iREFLECTeverything

Reflecting back at myself and also the things surrounding me, there are so many things that I feel we take for granted and that we have mistakenly take things that are fana (mortal) as something of important that we neglect the things that will give us eternal peace and salvation. Astaghfirullah.

Here's a small yet simple note that I took from the book Love for Allah by Syeikh Zulfiqar. May we reflect and try ourbest to be a better slave to Allah. Insya Allah.

In the present era, people have become so preocupied in satisfying the needs of their bodies that they are oblivious of Allah s.w.t. Everyone is prey to the deceits of their base desires (nafs) and is absorbed in submitting to whatever these desires dictate.

I found no one whose heart's condition was sound and true, I found worshippers of idols, but found not a worshipper of Allah.

It seems that those chests that used to glow like burning red coal due to intense love for Allah s.w.t. are today no more than heaps of ash. People have become unfamilliar with the inner reality (hakikat) of worship. They attend the prayer yet remain absent in spirit. They abstain from food and drink while fasting, yet they do not wholly refrain from sin. Their state of fasting extends to their stomachs, yet fail to encompass their eyes.

The frenzy of love no longer remains, Their (passionate) heart, that yearning are no more, Prayer, fasting, qurban, and hajj all remain, But love for You is no more.

Dear self, how have you fared in this life? How far have you controlled your nafs? Life is not to be enjoyed for your own personal gain, but it is the place for you to gain salvation in the hereafter. Astaghfirullah hal azheem. Ighfirly ya Allah, ana faqir ilayka.

Free yourself from worldly love

P/S: Khas buat sahabat yang balik ke Malaysia dan yang ada di perkampungan pelajar di sini, mari kita graduate dari Universiti Ramadhan dengan PhD at-Taqwa. Insya Allah. Moga kita thabat.

To be continued...
Wallahua'lam
All praise be to Allah, Lord of the universe
